Welcome to the Bray Pony Club! |
The Bray Hunt Pony Club is a large and very active branch of the Irish Pony Club. We currently have about 140 members, mostly from the north Wicklow and south Dublin areas. The Irish Pony Club is the main equestrian organisation for providing training in all disciplines of equestrian activities in the Country. There are close on sixty branches spread throughout the country. There are over 4,000 members between the ages of five and twenty-three.
The objectives of the Irish Pony Club are the same today as they were when the Pony Club was first established and they are as follows:
- To encourage young people to ride and to learn to enjoy all kinds of sport connected with ponies and riding.
- To give instruction in riding and horsemanship and to educate members to look after and to take proper care of their animals.
- To promote the highest ideals of sportsmanship, citizenship and loyalty, and to create strength of character and self discipline.
